Project Background
Madison County Parks & Recreation Authority is an independent board charged by the local government with developing and managing the 181 acre County-owned property known as Hoover Ridge Park. This is where, on August 17, 1929, President Herbert Hoover gave his celebrated “Hoover Day” address to his new friends and neighbors in Madison County. Formerly a farm, Hoover Ridge Park is the location of athletic playing fields, youth sports competitions, sports camps, hiking trails, a day-camp area called Camp Crockett and is also home to the May-October weekly Farmer’s Market.
